Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the United States. The actress is an actress as well as a singer and dancer. Her early Broadway roles include Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has been collaborating on projects with award-winning directors as well as actors and producers throughout her career. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford is currently working on the film for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. It's also available as an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford will be seen alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the production. Ashford's latest part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on a national scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. Her two-season stint on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first major role. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Other Broadway credits for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford is an Denver resident who splits her time between Los Angeles.
